One Sunday afternoon, we had finished lunch and the kids were washing dishes. All of a sudden there was water all over the floor, a major flood. China plumbing is very interesting and really small -- a thin piece of flex pipe stuffed in a small pvc pipe in the floor. We thought that it might have come out or was clogged and started investigating. That didn't seem to be the problem and we had to call the landlord. It took a couple of days to get a maintenance guy here to take a look at it. Those two days were rough trying to do dishes in the bathroom sink, which doesn't have any counter, and very little hot water. (We boil water to have water hot enough to kill any germs. Maybe one day, we'll have hot water again.) Eventually, they cleared the pipes and we can use the sinks again.
